QA Automation Engineer

---

Do you have passion for understanding, breaking, and testing cutting-edge products? Xobni is looking for our first full time automated QA engineer. This person will work with the rest of the Xobni QA team to make sure we're shipping stable, delicious software.

Responsibilities of this role include everything associated with making our automated testing efforts a success. This includes:

• Building our automated testing frameworks, including tools, testing harnesses, and dashboards
• Developing automated tests on top of those frameworks
• Working closely with developers to understand product requirements, technology, and user feedback
• Working closely with the manual testing team
• Acting as an overall technical generalist - able and willing to do whatever needs to be done

We think the following things will make you successful in this role:

• Minimum of 3 years of automated QA experience
• Strong programming and scripting skills across a wide variety of platforms and languages
• Passion for testing and the ability to work independently on a wide variety problems
• Excellent written communications skills
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art testing techniques and technologies
• C# and/or Web development experience is a plus
• MS/BS in Computer Science or related background is preferred

Xobni is a two year old startup in San Francisco focused on improving email. Billions of people use email daily but it hasn't improved over the past ten years. The only thing that has changed is everyone gets ten times more of it. We're off to a good start so far; user reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.

Senior Windows Software Engineer

Would you like to join a startup with a great team that creates exciting communications software? Xobni is looking for a Senior Windows Software Engineer to help us build and improve our products.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of large parts of Xobni's core code
• Write code that is both functional and elegant
• Diagnose performance and functional problems
• Participate in design discussions, perform analyses, and plan software and feature improvements

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field
• 5+ years experience in designing / developing Windows desktop application
• Proficiency in C# and C++
• Significant experience with Windows technologies (Win32, COM, etc.). Experience with developing for Outlook (OOM, VSTO, COM Addins, etc.) is a plus.

Do you thrive as part of a talented and highly agile engineering team? We're looking for software engineers to help envision, design, and build the core Xobni applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in software design discussions
• Develop ideas from a high-level description to a shippable product
• Perform analyses, software design, code, troubleshooting, and unit testing
• Write code that is both functional and elegant
• Set individual goals and take responsibility for executing
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of software development experience
• Experience with N-tier application development
• Successful multi-tasker, as well as a self starter who is able to work well with others and can adapt to changes quickly in a high pressure startup environment
• Very familiar with general application development
• C#/Java knowledge a plus
• Excellent technical communication, both written and verbal
• MS/BS in Computer Science or related background preferred
